Today I had the pleasure of seeing The Theory of Everything , a film about Stephen Hawking and his relationship with former wife Jane Hawking. If I could only use one word to describe the film, I would say beautiful. Eddie Redmayne portrays Hawking from a 21 year old Cambridge student who is falling in love with Jane Wilde played by Felicity Jones. During this time he learns that he suffers from Motor Neuron Disease. We follow these characters as they get married and have children. His muscles deteriorates but his mind grows stronger.
Though we all know that Stephen and Jane did divorce we get to see an intimate portrait of their love for one another. You can see why they are still in each other’s lives. It’s not just because they share three beautiful children but because they shared a remarkable journey. The Theory of Everything was adapted from Jane’s book Travelling to Infinity by Anthony McCarten and Directed by James Marsh.
If you have a chance to see this film in theaters I suggest that you take it. It is beautifully filmed and directed. The acting is superb and the story, well lets just say you may need some tissues. Thanks for reading my simple little rehash of the story and a even simpler review.
